Pharmacist answer

What is the difference between originator and Indian-brand cancer medicine?

Originator brands (Keytruda, Herceptin, Avastin, Tagrisso, Darzalex) are the first licensed products. Indian brands and biosimilars contain the same active ingredient but are separate licenses, factories, and sometimes devices (for example Palbace vs Ibrance). Quality for a licensed generic still depends on that product’s regulatory file — we supply named packs with batch traceability, not unlabeled “white vials.” Your oncologist must accept the named product. We will not relabel a generic as the originator.

  • Same salt ≠ automatically the same licensed brand.
  • We sell what is on the carton.
  • Ask the clinic before switching brands.
