Erdanat 5 Tablet is an anticancer medication containing the active constituent erdafitinib. It is used to treat a type of cancer known as locally advanced or metastatic urothelial carcinoma, which mainly affects the bladder and urinary tract. This medicine is generally prescribed for patients whose cancer has specific genetic changes in fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) genes and who have already received prior chemotherapy.

Erdanat 5 Tablet is a targeted therapy that helps slow down or stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking certain proteins involved in tumor development. It is taken orally and requires close monitoring, especially for eye-related side effects and changes in blood phosphate levels.

Patients should inform their doctor if they experience vision changes, eye pain, or dry eyes. Regular eye examinations and blood tests are important during treatment. Erdanat 5 Tablet is taken orally as a tablet, usually once daily or as prescribed by the doctor. It should be swallowed whole with or without food. The dosage may be adjusted based on blood phosphate levels and treatment response. Do not crush or chew the tablet. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

Taking Erdanat 5 Tablet with any of the following medicines can alter the effects of either and may increase the risk of serious side effects.

Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors such as Ketoconazole or Clarithromycin (Oral Route) Moderate

These medicines may increase erdafitinib levels, leading to increased side effects.

Strong CYP3A4 inducers such as Rifampicin or Phenytoin (Oral Route) Moderate

Avoid concomitant use.

These medicines may reduce the effectiveness of erdafitinib.

Phosphate-lowering agents (Oral Route) Moderate

Use with caution.

They may interfere with monitoring phosphate levels, which is important during treatment.
