Gaucher disease is a rare, inherited metabolic disorder caused by a deficiency of the enzyme β-glucocerebrosidase. This deficiency leads to the accumulation of a fatty substance called glucosylceramide in organs such as the liver, spleen, and bone marrow, resulting in anemia, enlarged organs, bone pain, and fatigue.

Eliglustat works by reducing the production of glucosylceramide, helping restore balance between the production and breakdown of this lipid. It is prescribed for adult patients who are CYP2D6 extensive or intermediate metabolizers, as confirmed through genetic testing.

Larglustat 84mg Capsule is not a cure, but it serves as an effective long-term therapy for stabilizing and improving symptoms when taken consistently.
