The Valentax 100 mg Tablet contains the active ingredient Venetoclax. Valentax 100 mg Tablet is an antineoplastic drug in the class of BCL-2 inhibitors. It is used to treat adults with certain types of blood cancers, including chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML). 

Specifically, it is used in CLL with a 17p deletion and in AML in patients who cannot undergo intensive chemotherapy. It can also be used in combination with other medications to treat certain types of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Valentax 100 mg Tablet works by inhibiting the BCL-2 protein, which helps promote cancer cell death. This action restores apoptosis (programmed cell death) by binding to BCL-2, displacing pro-apoptotic proteins, and initiating mitochondrial outer membrane permeabilization, which triggers cell death.

Do not take the Valentax 100 mg tablet if you are allergic to Venetoclax or any of the other ingredients in the medication. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have kidney problems, a history of infections, or any blood-related disorders, such as low white blood cell count or low platelet count. 

Ensure that your physician is aware of any past history of Tumour Lysis Syndrome (TLS) or if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, as Venetoclax may harm the fetus. Valentax 100 mg Tablet should not be used in children or adolescents under the age of 18.

In CLL and AML cells, BCL-2 overexpression supports tumor cell survival and chemotherapy resistance by binding directly to BCL-2. Valentax 100 mg Tablet displaces pro-apoptotic proteins like BIM, triggering mitochondrial outer membrane permeabilization and activating caspases. Nonclinical studies demonstrate venetoclax’s cytotoxic effect on tumor cells overexpressing BCL-2.

The Valentax 100 mg Tablet is administered orally. Do not break, chew, or crush the tablets. Follow the prescribed dosing schedule and consult your healthcare provider to determine the correct dosage. If you miss a dose, do not double the dose. Contact your healthcare provider for guidance.

It may also harm the fetus, so women of reproductive potential should avoid pregnancy during treatment. Regular blood counts are essential to detect neutropenia, and you should avoid live attenuated vaccines.
