The Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) asks you to pick a whole number from 0 to 10 to describe your pain. The Visual Analog Scale (VAS) uses a continuous line you mark between 'no pain' and 'worst pain', which is then measured as a score. Both aim to capture the same thing, and this tool uses the simpler 0-10 NRS format.
