What is Herceptin (Trastuzumab)?
Trastuzumab targets HER2 receptors on certain tumor cells. It is given by infusion (and in some labels as subcutaneous formulations) only under specialist care.
Related HER2 medicines such as pertuzumab (Perjeta) and ado-trastuzumab emtansine (Kadcyla) are different drugs — not substitutes unless your oncologist says so.
