What is Opdivo (Nivolumab)?

Nivolumab helps the immune system recognize certain cancers by blocking PD-1. It is used (as indicated) in melanoma, lung cancer, kidney cancer, and other solid tumors when an oncologist prescribes it.

Patients often search “Opdivo” and “nivolumab” as if they were different drugs. They are the same active ingredient. Originator Opdivo and licensed nivolumab presentations may differ by strength and pack.

Do not self-dose. Infusion timing, premedication, and monitoring are decided by the treating team.
